Steady
A Taurus New Moon
If we’re lucky, the Taurus Moon brings stabilization, a sense of reassurance, even, quieting down inner and outer upheaval, calming things down, providing the solid ground from which we can procede at our own pace.
Meanwhile, the Mars Uranus opposition is driving us crazy. There’s a buildup before every Full Moon, but for this super bright Supermoon, the astrological buildup looks pretty wild.
There’s an urge to break free, scatter the limits, not caring the least for what is next or where this will take us. We long for adventure, we’re so ready to take that leap, we need to go somewhere, somewhere different, somewhere new, exiting and free and far out. Heading for something we feel deeply about, we might be chasing a dream when we are being hit by lightning, catching a glimpse while we are not sure anymore where we are nor where we are going... and this is when we might not be in Kansas anymore.
Mars has moved into an on-edge first degree opposition to Uranus, while both rulers, Mercury and Jupiter, are slowing down, preparing to station and turn back, gaining impact and weight not only ruling this wildly impulsive configuration but the nodal axis, too. While change feeds instability, impatience and discontent are agents of change. And while we are heading out in all directions at once, no particular one in mind, we find ourselves on a quest, we are negotiating truth, reinventing narratives, retracing journeys and bargaining histories. We are about to embark on an unprecedented adventure but not yet leaving the gate. While we’re taking that leap of faith it turns out we’re only just planning, envisioning, inventing. We will soon have to retrace, look for a deeper truth, finding meaning, reinventing purpose. We are only just cruising into the great wide open when shifting into reverse. Aiming high right into the blue and grey, destination unknown. While we are wishing ourselves way out there we will need to look back and deep down to find the aim lies within. And in the end, the truth does, too. But that story might have to wait until the New Moon.
For now, amidst the shockwaves and breakthroughs, shattered dreams, unknown answers and adventures, when we’re scattered by the winds, on edge and spread thin, the Taurus Moon comes in. Reminding us the only thing that matters, the only place we belong, is right here in our body, here and now. It has us come to our senses, putting both feet firmly on the ground, taking care off what needs to be taken care of. No rush here. Get centered. Be present. Everything in it’s own time.
This is where we find, and always have had, the ability to sustain ourselves. The sign of the Bull is often said to be lazy, slow. It can be, at times. Laid back where it can rely in it’s own resourcefulness. Connected, rooted into our inherent ability to sustain and prevail, to survive, no matter what. Self reliance and fundamental trust in life imply and presuppose each other. Creating that unshakeable reassurance, the solid ground to start from, wherever it is we need to go, whatever needs to be done.
Go easy now. Not so fast. We will get there anyway, or we might change our mind, revision our plans. It doesn’t even matter right now, right here. And if it’s worth it, it’s worth the work and it’s worth the wait. We will get there. In our own time. And we have already gained. Peace of mind.
